January 1st, 2019 Future Genomics Technologies has joined the Horizon 2020 MIAMI project. In this project the production of monoterpenoid indole alkaloids (MIAs) will be studied. New tools and methodologies to discover complex biosynthetic pathways in plants 
will be identified and the project aims to optimize their production in microbes.
Future Genomics Technologies will play a key role in the sequencing, assembly and annotation of genomes from plants that produce MIAs. Future Genomics Technologies has already done this for many plant and animal genomes and has a broad experience in this field.
