At the upcoming nanopore community meeting Hans Jansen will present the work that we did on the king cobra genome. His talk is in the animal genomics panel discussion on Thursday, December 3rd.
Using genomic long reads a new assembly was made that is significantly better than the previous published short read genome.
In addition a wealth of cDNA data was generated to help annotate the genome of this snake.
