Plant genomes

Plants are a important source of food, but also produce metabolites that are used to treat diseases. One class of those metabolites are monoterpene indole alkaloids (MIAs). We participated in MIAMi a Horizon 2020 project to identify and transfer the metabolic pathways from plants to yeast. We sequenced, assembled, and annotated 14 plant genomes using the nanopore sequencing platform. Several papers were published as a results of this project.
